Schneider + Fichtel GmbH, a specialized manufacturer of door handles and processed glass combined with lighting, and DÖPPNER Bauelemente GmbH & Co.KG, known for technological expertise in the construction of glass roofing and facades, have jointly founded l i f GmbH, a new Company that will strive to successfully market LED technology in conjunction with glass. The two firms have also announced the signing of a partnership agreement with SCHOTT AG aimed at helping them to reach this goal.

Light, innovation, future - the newly founded Company will be devoted to research and development, but also manufacturing and marketing with regard to all types of glass, especially flat glass in combination with other materials, using various light sources. In addition, l i f GmbH will work to identify new areas of application and market opportunities for transparent glass conducting electricity.

Promoting the use of transparent electricity conducting glass using light diodes (LEDs) is also the aim of the agreement that has been reached with SCHOTT AG. The Intention is to not only offer conductive glass, but also entire products, such as doors, windows, partitions and the like. Skylight windows, walkable glass, canopies and accessories for use in homes are other products that will be developed and marketed.
